A, B & G Lines Have Positive Train Control (PTC)
PTC is new technology mandated by Congress. Passenger railroads regulated by the Federal Railroad Administration are required to have installed it. It provides an extra layer of safety intended to prevent collisions, enforce speed restrictions, and promote railroad worker safety. The A and B lines were the first rail lines in the nation to have the technology built into them, rather than retrofitted. The technology uses GPS and other wireless technology to prevent accidents.
